The Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PHSB) beetle is native to Southeast Asia and has a symbiotic relationship with the fungus (Fusarium Euwallaceae). This insect-disease complex was first detected in KwaZulu-Natal, but has spread across the country and is threatening South Africa’s trees. Likhona Lethu takes a multi-pronged approach to permanently eradicating PHSB from trees in natural areas, gardens and farms.
